First Online Meetup: Fine-tuning LLMs, verifying geolocation & developing apps

On Wednesday, December 11th, at 2:00 PM, the AI for Media Network will be starting a small experiment: our first online meetup. This new, low-threshold format will take place between our in-person meetups. We aim to maintain the practical nature of our meetings. There will be three workshop presentations, without a central theme like our regular meetups, but rather a mix of topics.

Here’s what we have planned for December 11th:

  • Tailored vs. Off-the-Shelf: Fine-Tuning Language Models and its Benefits for Newsrooms. Julius Sandmann, Head of AI at Badische Neueste Nachrichten
  • SPOT: The AI-Assisted Geolocation Service that Works with Natural Language Prompts. Tilman Wagner, Innovation Manager at Deutsche Welle; Lynn Khellaf, Innovation Manager at Deutsche Welle
  • Create Your Own App in 5 Minutes: How Ippen.Media Accelerates Development with Code Assistants and Agent Workflow Tools. René Heuser, Head of AI at Ippen Digital; Stefan van Rest, AI Engineer at Ippen Digital

Each presentation is planned for approximately 15 minutes, allowing time for questions after each session.
The online meetup will be held on Teams on December 11, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. No registration is required; you can simply join the meeting. Feel free to share the link with anyone who might be interested.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at our online meetup on December 11th!
